About me
I am an experienced and qualified counsellor/psychotherapist (MSc Counselling Psychology) with over 18 years experience of counselling adults.
I am an integrative counsellor, which means that I use a variety of approaches and will tailor the support to meet your needs. However, it is widely acknowledged that in order for therapy to be successful, it is vital that there is a strong therapeutic relationship between client and counsellor, for that reason I offer an introductory session at a reduced fee or if you would prefer, we can arrange a brief telephone call. At the end of the introductory session or phone call you may decide to book another appointment, or you may prefer to take some time to reflect on whether to continue or not.
I offer both short-term counselling and longer-term counselling/psychotherapy. Short-term counselling generally focuses on a specific issue in the present day, whereas longer-term counselling/psychotherapy tends to focus on deeper issues.
I am experienced in working with adults with a wide range of concerns such as depression, anxiety, stress, self-esteem, relationship difficulties, workplace issues, substance misuse, domestic abuse & sexual trauma.
I offer a variety of appointment times throughout the week, including evenings; offering counselling face to face, via Microsoft Teams, by telephone or a combination.
What is counselling and how can it help?
Counselling is a talking therapy; it is an opportunity to talk with a trained professional who will offer a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental space for you to explore any difficulties you may be experiencing.
Talking with a counsellor offers the opportunity for you to explore and find your own insight and understanding of your problem, and to make decisions about any changes you would like to make. Counselling is also useful in helping you to come to terms with those things that cannot be changed.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
