About me

Hi, I’m really glad you’ve found your way here. I have been offering person-centred  support for decades in various roles ; NHS, Samaritans, Parenting Charity, Bereavement Charity,  and as an Special Guardian.

Do you often ask yourself , "What's wrong with me?" , feel exhausted, weary, and like a stranger to yourself? Many of us over-function, mask, and carry the weight of past hurts, feeling numb or endlessly trying to fit in.

At The Emotional Edit, I offer a safe and compassionate space for you to rest, unpack, be fully heard and seen to support you reconnect with your true self, beyond the masks and inherited stories.

Using a Person-Centred, Neuro-Affirming, and Trauma-Informed approach, we'll gently explore what's hurting you, re-frame old stories , soften heavy defences, re-affirm boundaries, and ignite your sense of self and well-being.

I specialise in working with:

Neurodivergent adults, like me who are late  or self-diagnosed  who've spent a lifetime feeling "too much" or "not enough," learning to unlearn narratives like being "broken," "difficult," or "lazy." You are not broken.

Parents and carers of children living with trauma, and neurodivergence. I've been there!. Trying to navigate guilt, isolation, and the quiet grief of watching a child struggle while feeling helpless. Not being the parent you wished to be, and unlearning ideas of parenting that you were raised with.

Individuals experiencing complex grief, whether from recent bereavement (loved ones or pets), the loss of who you once were, a relationship, a role, or the slow ache of chronic emotional and physical fatigue. Having experienced significant losses over the years in all forms I fully understand the complexity of grief and shame.

Together, using compassion, humour, curiosity and care  we'll address the internal criticism, old stories and negative beliefs,  helping you redefine your worth and sense of self.

Whatever you bring will be be held at a pace that feels right for you supporting your unique needs.  It's never too late to rewrite your story, to  come home to yourself. I'd love to walk alongside you.

Your Story. Your Way. You Centred.

I offer online, face-to-face, and walk-and-talk sessions tailored to your unique needs.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
