About me
Hi I'm Dave,
I'm a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and have several years Counselling experience. Coming from an emergency services background, I have a lifetime of experience in dealing with trauma, anxiety, depression and neurodiversity. I use a blend of that experience and my counselling skills to provide a bespoke service to my clients.
Throughout the week, I work with adults and adolescents of all genders and in addition, run a Men’s health clinic on Tuesday evenings.
I offer long and short-term therapy and primarily use a psychodynamic approach.
Together, we will look at your current feelings and the reasons that bring you to counselling, examining how they may be affected by your past and how you can change the way you feel. Often, our behaviours are influenced by our earlier life without us realising it. Our aim will be to reveal why you make the decisions you make and why you feel the way you do. Understanding ourselves can lead to change and a positive future.
I work in a non-judgemental, confidential manner where client safety is paramount.
Together, we progress at a pace you are comfortable with in order to reach your personal goals.
I offer one-to-one counselling, either in person from my practice between Dorking and Reigate, or online sessions via a secure video platform.
I currently have availability on Tuesday evenings or Wednesday and Thursday daytimes.
The hardest step
Making contact with a counsellor can be the hardest step. I offer an initial short telephone consultation at no cost. This is an opportunity for us to chat, discuss what you think you are looking for and establish what counselling will actually be. We can clarify any queries you have and decide if we would like to work together.
I provide an approachable, professional, and confidential service. Please call, text, or email me to arrange an initial appointment.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
