About me

About Me

I have more than thirty years of experience working in health and social care settings, I have dedicated my professional life to supporting individuals in their mental health journeys. Over the years, I have developed a deep understanding of the challenges people face and the importance of compassionate, tailored support to help you work through challenges life can present us with..

My Approach

As a committed mental health practitioner, I strive to create a welcoming, safe, and confidential environment where you can freely express your thoughts and feelings. I firmly believe that every person deserves a space where they are listened to without judgment, and I am here to provide that supportive presence. By offering therapy sessions online, I hope to make access to mental health care as convenient as possible, no matter your location or schedule.

Online Therapy
While online sessions may not suit everyone, Since 2020 they have proven to be flexible, accessible and I hope more affordable. I hope this approach helps you access support in a comfortable, manageable way.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a BACP-accredited counsellor and psychotherapist with extensive experience supporting adults,  young people, families, and professionals. My work with Adults and as a Senior Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMHS) Practitioner has given me a deep understanding of the emotional and psychological challenges people face.

I draw on both psychodynamic and CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) approaches, adapting my work to suit each person’s individual needs and circumstances. My aim is to provide a safe, understanding, and non-judgmental space where you can explore difficulties and move towards positive change.

In addition to my therapy work, I am a qualified Clinical Supervisor. I’m passionate about creating a supportive, reflective space where practitioners feel safe to explore their work and grow in confidence.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
