About me
I am a BACP-registered Psychotherapist and Clinical Supervisor based in Manchester.
I view therapy as an honest, meaningful conversation between two people where you will feel heard and understood. My style is friendly and down-to-earth, with a focus on building a genuine connection and then using this as the basis for exploring aspects of your life that are holding you back. I appreciate that starting any kind of personal work may be daunting and can bring up feelings of anxiety, so I place a great deal of emphasis on making sure the relationship is a good fit and we work at a pace that promotes a sense of safety before we begin to work at depth
I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches including Psychodynamic, Attachment and Person Centred schools. Initially I'll be focused on getting an in-depth picture of your life, honing in on what you need from therapy and then using our relationship as a means for understanding how you connect to the people in your life with the aim of identifying unhelpful patterns and building more fulfilling relationships. My ultimate aim is to support clients in knowing themselves better, developing self compassion along the way and working out what's missing so they can lead more fulfilling lives.

I have over fifteen years of frontline mental health experience. I have supported individuals from many different walks of life across diverse settings, from community mental health teams and universities to my most recent role within a specialist young person’s mental health service - 42nd Street.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Areas of Experience
Early Childhood Adversity and Trauma
I have extensive experience supporting individuals who have navigated difficult childhoods or family instability in early life. This often includes helping clients process the impact of unstable relationships, neglect or significant loss.
Neurodivergence
I am dedicated to supporting neurodivergent individuals, an area often overlooked in conventional counselling. My approach is reflective and inclusive, specifically tailored to the sensory and relational needs of clients with Autism and ADHD. I ensure these factors are fully integrated into therapy when we are working through the complexities of trauma.
Difficulties around self-acceptance or low self-worth
I welcome enquiries from individuals who are struggling with low self-esteem, self-criticism and who may also be feeling emotionally shut down or disconnected. I appreciate it may be challenging managing this alongside day-to-day life stressors or major life transitions, so I use a holistic approach when supporting clients facing these difficulties.
Students
I have extensive experience delivering specialist mental health support within university settings. I am particularly skilled in helping students navigate the pressures of perfectionism, imposter syndrome and academic burnout. I welcome enquiries from students facing these specific academic and personal challenges.
Support for colleagues in frontline and helping professions
I recognise that working in any caring or helping profession can be rewarding, but it can also come with unique personal challenges, meaning that appropriate emotional support and supervision is vital. I offer tailored one-to-one support sessions to colleagues from different helping professions, including nursing, social work and first responders.
