About me

Hello and welcome, my name is Daniella Somers. It takes a lot of courage to recognise that you are feeling stuck, and taking this step is often your very first move towards real change. In our work together, I place our relationship at the absolute centre of my practice. This means my primary goal is to build deep trust, empathy, and safety with you, creating a space where you feel completely seen, heard, and listened to. When your nervous system feels truly safe, your brain can finally move out of survival mode and into a reflective space, creating an opportunity for you to connect and heal.

Because your journey is entirely unique, my integrative approach balances understanding your past with managing your present. By blending Psychodynamic therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), we can explore the root causes and past patterns driving your distress while equipping you with practical, immediate tools.

Whether you are navigating anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or the unique complexities of the postpartum journey, you do not have to do it alone. We won’t just focus on managing your symptoms we will work together to fundamentally transform how you relate to yourself and the world around you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have worked for several years supporting individuals with confidence, self-esteem, and complex needs. I have experience helping people process anxiety, depression, the postpartum journey, childhood trauma, domestic abuse, self-esteem, chronic illness, grief, and relationship and family issues.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
