About me
I believe therapy can offer something that is often difficult to find elsewhere: a space where you don't have to perform, cope or have everything figured out. You can simply arrive as you are.
I’m Dalia, a qualified therapeutic counsellor based in Maidenhead, Berkshire. I offer a warm, calm and confidential space where you can talk openly about what is going on for you, without judgement and without the pressure of having to have all the answers.
You may come to counselling knowing exactly what you want help with. Or you may simply have a feeling that something isn’t quite right and you’re not sure where to begin. Both are perfectly valid places to start.
I believe counselling is about being understood and having the space to make sense of your experiences, feelings and patterns in your own way. My approach is person-centred, which means there is no fixed formula for our work together. We will focus on what feels most relevant to you and work at a pace that feels manageable.
I support adults experiencing anxiety, depression, grief and loss, insomnia, addiction and life transitions, including motherhood, menopause and retirement. Sometimes what brings us to counselling is a particular event or difficulty. At other times, it can be harder to put our finger on what is wrong. We can explore that together.
I’m particularly interested in what sits underneath the difficulties we experience, the beliefs we have developed about ourselves, the expectations we place on ourselves, and the ways we have learned to cope. Sometimes the things that helped us manage earlier in life may no longer be serving us in quite the same way. Counselling can give you the opportunity to explore these patterns with curiosity rather than judgement.
My aim is not to tell you what to do or provide ready made answers. Instead, I see my role as walking alongside you while you develop a deeper understanding of yourself, your experiences and what you might need. Together, we can begin to explore what may be keeping you stuck and what might help you find a way forward.
I’m a registered member of the BACP and work within its ethical framework. I have regular clinical supervision and remain committed to ongoing learning and professional development. I also volunteer with a local charitable counselling agency, which continues to broaden my experience of the different circumstances and life experiences that can bring someone to counselling.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
