About me

I am here to listen and to hold a space for you to explore those difficult parts, of yourself and your experiences, that are getting in the way of how you want to be: feeling low or bad about yourself, worries, mourning loss or facing uncertainty.

I offer a connected and calm presence, along with a dynamic style of therapy that should feel like a good conversation; between two people but only about one of us… you.

Every person and issue is unique, so I use an integrative approach that enables me to work with you in the way that you need and prefer. I will give you the space you need but I'm not a blank slate or a nodding head.

I work from an inviting space in the centre of Edinburgh for in-person counselling, but online or phone counselling is also possible.

We can begin with a free consultation so that you can get a sense of how I am, and I can learn more about your hopes for therapy. I am happy to work with anyone who feels I can offer what they need but, occasionally, there are specific needs that could benefit from other support. I believe the therapeutic relationship is important to success and this initial meeting can bolster assurance going into your first session.

You are always in control of the pace of your work and what we talk about.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a Diploma of Counselling plus a Professional Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling, and engage with a range of further training each year including:

  • Trauma informed practice
  • Anti-racist practice
  • Self-harm
  • Suicidal ideation
  • Dissociation
  • Generalised anxiety, dopamine, inner compass...

My working modality is Integrative / Pluralistic, meaning I am comfortable to use different lenses for looking at your issues depending on what seems most useful and in consideration with the way that you wish to work: it is a collaboration between us.

My standard rate is £55 for a 50 minute session, but I am open to negotiating reduced rates for those who would find this unsustainable for ongoing therapy.

Longer, 90 minute sessions are also possible for some work. These are £80.

Finding the right therapeutic fit is an important factor for success. To aid this, I offer a free 25 minute consultation so that you can get a feel for me and I can learn something of your reasons and hopes for counselling.
