Member organisations *
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information
At Counselling Hub Westbury, your journey begins with an initial assessment with Sarah Davis, the Service Lead. This first step helps us understand what you’re looking for, what you’re experiencing, and what kind of support may be most helpful for you.
After your assessment, you will be matched with one of our Hub Counsellors — counsellors in the final stages of their professional training who are carefully selected, professionally supported, and closely supervised. Once you are matched, your counselling journey continues with your own therapist, who will work with you consistently throughout your sessions.
If you would like to see who our Hub Counsellors are before starting, you are welcome to visit our website and read their profiles (will be on website from 3/6/26). If you have a preference for a particular counsellor, you can let Sarah know during your assessment or when you get in touch, and we will do our best to accommodate this where availability allows.
Your counsellor will be your main point of contact for session arrangements, while Sarah remains responsible for assessments, safeguarding, and the overall running of the service. This means you receive the warmth and continuity of working with your own therapist, with the reassurance of an experienced practitioner overseeing the safety and quality of the service.
