About me
Life has its ups and downs. But there are times when the weight can become a bit too much to carry on your own. People come to me for many reasons anxiety that won’t switch off, feeling overwhelmed, low mood, burnout and stress from work, relationship difficulties, loss, or a sense of being ‘stuck’. You don’t need to have a clear 'reason' to start; counselling can also help when you simply want to understand yourself better, or have someone trusted to talk to.
I’m a person-centred counsellor offering a calm and confidential space where you can talk freely and be heard. We’ll work together at your pace, helping you make sense of what you’re feeling, reconnect with what matters to you, and build self-trust and understanding to make the changes you’re ready for.
I also offer Walk and Talk therapy in the stunning North Wales countryside. Sometimes the idea of face to face sessions in a counselling room can feel a bit intimidating. Walk and Talk offers the relaxing benefits of the outdoors, and 'side by side' counselling.
If you’re thinking about counselling, please get in touch to ask questions or arrange an initial session. We can have a brief introductory call to help you decide whether I feel like the right counsellor for you, and to talk through practicalities such as times, fees and how we’ll work together.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have worked in charity and education settings supporting clients with a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, burnout and stress at work, grief, trauma, and family and relationship difficulties. I believe that counselling offers benefits to everyone, whether that is dealing with major challenges or working through the more day to day aspects of life.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
As well as offering counselling, I can also provide life coaching. In these sessions we can look at the areas of your life you would like to try to move forward, what challenges you face, and what steps and plans you can put in place to help you achieve your goals. I can support you along the way to move towards your goals, overcome any challenges, and recognise your achievements and successes.
Face to face counselling will take place in a room in the centre of Ruthin. Whilst I am based in Ruthin, I'm also happy to travel and arrange room hire in Wrexham, Mold and Deeside if required, although I may have to pass on some of the cost of room hire. Walk and Talk sessions can be held around Ruthin, the Clwydian Range and the Halkyn Mountain area.
