About me

Welcome! I’m delighted that you’re considering therapy. As a qualified integrative counsellor, my practice incorporates various therapeutic approaches, with a core foundation in person-centred therapy. This means my practice places you, the client, at the heart of everything we do.

Your story matters. I am here to truly listen to what you have to say. Through active listening and empathy, I strive to understand your experiences and feelings from your perspective. This deep understanding helps us explore your thoughts and emotions in a meaningful way, validating your experiences and paving the way for healing. I am committed to providing a non-judgmental environment where you can feel safe and supported as you share your thoughts and feelings.

You are the expert on your own life. My role is to support and guide you, respecting your autonomy every step of the way. Together, we’ll navigate your challenges, and you’ll always have the final say in the decisions that shape your therapeutic process. This empowering approach ensures that therapy aligns with your values and aspirations.

Think of our work together as a partnership. We will collaborate closely to set goals, identify your needs, and tailor our sessions to address what matters most to you. Your feedback is invaluable, and I encourage open communication to make sure our sessions are effective and impactful. Therapy is a process of self-discovery. I will support you as you delve into your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours, helping you gain new insights and perspectives. This process of self-exploration can be incredibly empowering, allowing you to understand yourself better.

In addition to my private work, I also work within GP practices, supporting people with a range of emotional and mental health challenges.

I offer face to face sessions, walk and talk sessions and also online sessions.

If you're ready to explore a path of self-discovery and growth, I’m here to walk alongside you. Together, we can foster positive change and help you achieve the life you envision.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

Your first session with me is an important step in your therapeutic journey. During this initial session, we will get to know each other and discuss what brings you to therapy. This is a crucial time for us to explore your goals, concerns, and what you hope to achieve through our work together.

In preparation for our first session, I ask that you complete a brief assessment form. This form helps me understand your background, current situation, and any specific issues you are facing. It allows us to make the most of our time together by focusing on what matters most to you right from the start.

What to Expect During the First Session:

Introduction: We will start by discussing your reasons for seeking therapy.

Goal Setting: We will identify your goals and what you hope to achieve.

Immediate Concerns: We will explore any immediate concerns or issues you would like to address.

Therapeutic Process: I will explain the therapeutic process and how we can work together effectively.

This session is also an opportunity for you to ask any questions about the therapy process, my approach, and what you can expect in future sessions. It’s important to me that you feel comfortable and informed as we begin our work together.

My goal for the first session is to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you can share openly and honestly. Building a trusting therapeutic relationship from the outset is key to the success of our work together.

To schedule your first session, please contact me, and we can arrange a free 15 minute phone consultation.

I look forward to working with you and supporting you on your path to healing and personal growth.
