Hebden Bridge HX7 & Halifax HX7

About me

I am a mature and experienced counsellor using the Human Givens Solution Focused approach and specialising in anxiety and trauma. I can help you to recognize your strengths and resources, change unhelpful patterns of behaviour, communicate clearly and calm anxiety. I work creatively with metaphor and stories, and the best scientific knowledge available. It is a practical, positive forward-focused approach, which concentrates on mastery of skills such as anger management and relaxation that people can use in the future to move on in their lives, rather than concentrating on, and being stuck in, what went wrong in the past.

I work with adults, young people and couples and I also offer Counselling Supervision.

I use comfortable private rooms at Hebden Bridge Therapy Center with disabled access.

During this Corona Virus Outbreak I will be offering sessions on Skype and Zoom at reduced fees. Unfortunately I will not be able to offer the Human Givens Rewind Technique by remote counselling, but if you are new to these technologies you can be rest assured that they can be easier to use than you think and the space can be as useful to help you make changes and cope better with anxiety and isolation. Whilst these are unsettling times we can embrace these new technologies and continue best we can.

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.

Wheelchair user access

There are two disabled parking spaces out side on the street parking and a disabled toilet on the premises. A lift takes you to the second floor for accessing the therapy rooms.

Please contact me any time via e-mail. If you would like a 15 min chat you can phone me between 5pm and 6pm. Appointments can be made for any time during the week and evenings also.
