About me

Are you feeling anxious, sad, out of control or experiencing relationship difficulties. I understand that asking for help can sometimes seem a huge step to take when you're struggling with difficult feelings and emotions. I believe finding someone you can trust and you feel comfortable with is an important part of your recovery.

Working either face to face or via video link allows for therapy to take place in whichever way you choose offering a supportive, confidential and judgement-free setting

As a qualified counsellor, registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I can offer you a safe and confidential environment where you can discuss your concerns at your own pace, without fear of judgement.
I believe that we all have within us a strength to transform and change our lives by exploring current behaviour, choices that we make and possible reasons behind them. A supportive counselling relationship can help you with this transformation, often leading to an easier way of being in the world.

I can offer short or long term help depending on what suits you and how our work together progresses. For some people seeking counselling can be a daunting prospect and for that reason I encourage an introductory session where we can explore what has brought you to therapy and how we might work together. There is no obligation beyond this session to continue.

How I Work

I practice as an integrative Psychotherapist and Counsellor working with people from all walks of life and motivations for entering therapy. I combine elements of my training to suit your needs at different stages of the therapeutic relationship. Depending on your needs I may draw upon various theoretical approaches including psychodynamic, CBT or humanistic but most importantly it is the relationship with you, the client, that is central to our work.

With my history of nursing in a variety of demanding settings combined with my varied counselling experience, I feel equipped to offer you my kindness, strength and support until you feel able and ready to embrace life with renewed confidence.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
