About me
Compassionate therapy for anxiety, relationship issues and self-doubt. Neuro-affirmative ADHD counselling for individuals (12 years +) and support for non-ADHD partners and parents.
At Yellow Chair Therapy, I offer a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings. My goal is to help you understand yourself better, develop coping strategies, and make positive changes in your life. With a background in education and Master's degree in psychotherapy, I bring a unique blend of experience to support you in reducing unhelpful thinking patterns, manage anxiety, and help build a more meaningful and content life.
Don't let your mental health define you.
What my clients say:
"Clare has been amazing - she has opened my eyes and mind, and given me so much confidence in my ability to keep moving and improving."
"Clare has helped enormously in many ways. I feel better equipped, happier and more confident to challenge when appropriate and will also do more for my own wellbeing. I will without hesitation contact you again if I need to...but I don’t think I will, and I mean that with many thanks - from a very grateful ex-client."
"You notice things about me that no-one else sees. "
"I got to talk about my problems without feeing like I am being judged. Clare has helped me a lot to know how to regulate my feelings to help with my problems. "
100% of my clients have said their counselling has helped them to make changes, feel more able to cope and would recommend Yellow Chair Therapy to others.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Individual Psychotherapy
Sometimes life can feel a bit too much, leaving us feeling isolated, overwhelmed, stuck in unhelpful thinking patterns and pretending that we are ok. Personalised one-to-one sessions can help you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours in a welcoming, inclusive, non-judgemental and confidential setting. We work together to address your specific concerns and goals, helping you to understand why your past looked the way it did and how your future can be different.
ADHD Counselling
ADHD is a life-long neurobiological condition which, although can be described as a 'superpower', can also lead to feelings of overwhelm, low self-esteem and issues in managing work, study and relationships.
Support for adults and young people with ADHD (12+)
I provide specialised therapy, strategies and support for adults and young people with ADHD, focusing on your strengths, coping mechanisms, and organisational skills as well as helping you to explore some of the more challenging feelings which ADHD can bring.
Support for non-ADHD partners and parents/carers
Part of a meaningful, happy life is satisfying relationships, but sometimes ADHD can put additional pressure on partners and parents to be 'good team mates', creating feelings of powerlessness for all members of the family. Therapy can be a space for you to be heard, and help non-ADHD partners and parents to better understand the condition, reframe experiences and navigate complex emotional dynamics.
