About me

I am an integrative counsellor offering a supportive, non-judgemental space for adults who may be experiencing anxiety, stress, low mood, relationship difficulties, bereavement, low self-esteem, parenting pressures, or periods of change.

You may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, exhausted from holding everything together, or unsure why certain patterns keep repeating in your life. Counselling can offer you the space to slow things down, explore what is happening, and begin to understand yourself more fully.

My approach is mainly person-centred, which means I believe you are the expert on your own life. I will not tell you what you should do. Instead, we work together at a pace that feels right for you, exploring your thoughts, feelings, experiences and relationships in a way that feels safe and manageable.

I have a particular interest in supporting neurodivergent adults and parents of children with additional needs. As a SEN parent myself, I understand how demanding it can be to advocate for your child, manage family life and still try to make space for your own wellbeing.

I offer online counselling, telephone sessions and outdoor walking therapy. I also offer a free 15-minute initial consultation so that we can talk briefly about what you are looking for and whether working together feels right for you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified integrative counsellor with a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling.

My training has included person-centred therapy, Transactional Analysis, Gestalt approaches and other integrative ways of working. This allows me to adapt therapy to you as an individual rather than using one fixed approach.

I have experience supporting adults with anxiety, depression, bereavement, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, boundaries, childhood experiences and neurodiversity.

I have also worked with parents referred through CAMHS and have supported parents of children with autism, ADHD and additional needs. This work included areas such as self-care, emotional wellbeing, parenting pressures, hearing the child’s voice and helping parents recognise their own strengths.

I have completed additional training in Non-Violent Resistance (NVR) informed practice and CPD relating to narcissism and relational difficulties.

Alongside my professional training, my lived experience being a SEN parent has shaped the way I work and strengthened my understanding of how important it is to feel heard, accepted and not judged.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

NCPS
National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society (NCPS)

The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society This Not For Profit association of counsellors and psychotherapists aim to support the counselling profession, members and training organisations. In 2013 the NCS register was accredited by the Professional Standards Authority under the Accredited Voluntary Register Scheme. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information

I understand that taking the first step into counselling can feel daunting. You may not know exactly what you want to talk about or even how to explain what is wrong. That is completely okay.

You do not need to arrive with a clear goal or have everything worked out. We can begin with whatever feels most important to you and allow the work to develop from there.

I aim to offer a down-to-earth and approachable style of counselling. There is space for difficult emotions, reflection, honesty and also humour when it naturally becomes part of the work.

Sessions are 50 minutes and are available online, in-person, by telephone or as outdoor walking sessions. Walking therapy can be particularly helpful if you find sitting face-to-face difficult or feel more comfortable talking while moving and being outdoors.

My aim is to offer you a space where you can feel safe enough to be yourself, understand your experiences more deeply and begin making choices that feel more aligned with who you are and what you need.
