About me

Living in the rat race of life isn't always easy. Some choices we have to make are difficult and can become overwhelming; causing anxiety, exhaustion and feelings we are unsure how to handle.

Everyone is different in how they deal with life, even though we may have experienced the same things such as the death of a family member, we all react differently. My aim is to work with you to understand how you're feeling and offer you support in a confidential environment.

Friends and family sometimes think they have the answers, offering advice and having opinions based on their own experiences. Sometimes it's having an ear that won't judge, interrupt or tell you what to do.

You know your life better than anyone, I am here to listen to you, giving you a safe space to have your time and work through it together.

I use a collaborate and compassionate approach enabling you to manage difficult thoughts and feelings empowering you to take back control of your life.

I work Integratively, combining various therapeutic approaches to tailor an intervention to your specific wishes and needs. Through our work together you can develop your own coping mechanisms, take away a toolbox of useful techniques and enhance your confidence to deal with what comes your way in future.

I offer face to face, online and telephone counselling, I would be happy to discuss with you about how these would work and what option would be a good fit for you, Its really important that you feel happy doing what is right for you.

Thanks for reading and look forward to hearing from you.

Best wishes
Clare

Recently completed an Online Counselling Course

I have worked in a number of different settings covering a range of topics such as loss, anxiety, depression, alcohol and substance abuse, work stress and relationship issues.

I have experience of working with people who have been involved with or addicted to drugs and alcohol. Most were drinking to cover up traumas they have suffered, it was my aim to support them with their addiction and how to come to terms wiith their past, being with them on their journey to be themselves again without substances.

This has taught me a lot in my career and certainly helped me along the way to become a qualified counsellor.

I have attended many courses on drug and alcohol addiction, mental health/Dual diagnosis, suicide, safeguarding and many more.

I have a genuine passion in wanting to support people in difficult times creating a warm and pleasant environment to talk in.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
