Clare Gardner MBACP
I've been a qualified counsellor for 15 years with experience of working with adults, young people and families. I can offer a non judgemental environment with a safe place to explore feelings and thoughts, in confidential surroundings at my private practice at home.
Due to the current COVID-19 situation I am offering counselling sessions either via telephone call or online encrypted video messaging. This allows you to access counselling at this difficult time even if you are self-isolating.
I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I follow the ethical and professional requirements of this governing body.
I receive clinical supervision to ensure safe and ethical practice is maintained.
If you are struggling with day to day life this can become overwhelming. Counselling is a safe place to share these thoughts and feelings. I can offer support and space for you to be heard, enabling the therapeutic process to flow in your own time and to explore what changes you may want to make in your life.
My private practice is located in Aston Clinton, close to Wendover, Berkhampsted, Tring, Weston Turville, Stoke Mandeville and Aylesbury.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
Areas of counselling I deal with
The initial no fee session of 30 minutes, without obligation, gives us an opportunity to meet each other, ensuring that what I am able to offer feels right for you. It’s also an opportunity for you to ask any questions and to feel comfortable with working together.
I charge £40 per session, sessions are of 50 minutes duration.
