Clare Colley - UKCP, MBACP (Reg. Member)
I offer professional, confidential counselling, psychotherapy and EMDR in Luton and surrounding areas.
Everyone experiences difficulties and challenges at times in life, sometimes talking to friends or family provides what we need, however, there are times when talking therapy can help.
I offer private counselling & psychotherapy to talk and explore issues and difficulties that are present for you in a comfortable and private setting conveniently located in a residential area of Luton.
I also offer EMDR therapy, a NICE recommended treatment for working with trauma which can be particularly effective with issues such as PTSD and experiences that feel 'unresolved' in one way or another.
I am located within easy reach of the M1, A6 & A505 providing ready access from Luton and surrounding areas, including Harpenden, Hitchin and Mid Beds.
I have experience in dealing with a wide range of issues ranging from relationship difficulties, wounds from the past and distressing life events. Take a look around my website or contact me for further information.
Training, qualifications & experience
I gained an MA & Advanced Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy & Counselling at the Minster Centre, London, the UK’s leading integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling Training Institute.
It is important to me to keep up to date with current practice and developing ideas and I regularly attend training and professional development opportunities with this in mind.EMDR
EMDR is a NICE recommended therapy for working with trauma and PTSD. I am an EMDR Europe Accredited Practitioner and offer EMDR alongside other ways of working. Linking in to the brain's capacity to process information and experience in different ways, EMDR is a gentle and effective way of addressing issues that may be more difficult to access through other forms of therapy and is particularly helpful when working with traumatic experiences.
Professional membership & experience
I am a fully accredited member of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) I abide by their ethical framework for good practice in counselling and psychotherapy.
I have a particular interest in working with professionals and have previously worked in the University of Cambridge Staff Counselling Service.
Alongside my private practice I work with a local community counselling service in Hitchin and had several years of experience working with a low-cost therapy service for clients in North London as well as in a University student counselling service.

Other areas of counselling I deal with
I offer both short and long term counselling and psychotherapy.
Some people want to make changes in their lives at a deep level and examine fundamental patterns and relationships. Long term psychotherapy has a focus on finding a deeper understanding of relationships with ourselves, our bodies, others and the world around us.
For others, there is a short term focus for those with a specific issue to address.
I have specific training and a developing interest in working with trauma, both developmental and PTSD.
I offer an initial appointment at a reduced fee of £30 for an opportunity to see if it would be useful for us to work together.
I work on a fixed fee basis and offer appointments on Monday to Friday daytimes and evenings.
Session fees are between £45 and £50 depending on frequency and time of appointments.
Fees for organisational appointments £50-£65 depending on requirements.
Some concessionary rates are available, please ask for details.
I like to let clients know that I have a small well behaved dog who sometimes accompanies me in my practice.
