About me
Hello, I am a qualified and experienced counsellor, and additionally a final-year psychotherapist-in-training. I am qualified to work with children, adolescents and adults, with a range of difficulties such as anxiety, depression, self confidence, relationship difficulties, and trauma; I have taken specialised training in working with family experiences and neurodiversity. I aim to be neurodiversity and LGBTQ affirming.
I work face to face or online. You will find me in the centre of Canterbury in a beautiful building off historic Castle Street. The therapy space is discrete, comfortable and private and there is parking near by.
At the heart of my practice is a recognition of the importance of the therapeutic relationship, and you feeling understood, safe and accepted. I offer empathic therapy, understanding and care, to facilitate the changes you want, or support with the difficulties you face. Whether you are looking to raise your self esteem, tackle anxiety or low mood, understand yourself or others better, process painful experiences or losses, work with relationship difficulties or something else, I will support you in the way you find helpful, to ensure your needs are best met.
Adults: I have taken several advanced trainings and qualifications beyond my original counselling qualification, including an integrative psychotherapy training, which has Transactional Analysis psychotherapy at it's core. As an integrative therapist, I can draw on a number of theoretical models and skills to ensure your needs are most helpfully supported. Overall, I aim to offer compassionate interventions and therapy respectful of your history, journey and choices.
Children and Adolescents: Working safely and effectively with children and adolescents in counselling and psychotherapy requires specific training. I am trained to work through play, therapeutic creative arts and talking therapies and I have studied child development at undergraduate and postgraduate level. I am experienced with supporting a range of issues that can impact children, adolescents and parents and my therapy room is fully resourced to welcome people of all ages.
Neurodiversity: I am passionate about neurodiverse individuals and their families accessing therapy which is affirming and non-traumatising, therefore I give focus to continued specialised training in this area. I work from an affirming standpoint and without judgement. For example I approach therapeutic work with autistic people, not with a focus on differences that need to be changed (to mimic neurotypical people), but rather with a recognition of unique needs and strengths.
Drop me an email and we can arrange a time to have a chat on the phone, or alternatively, if liaising via email is preferable, we can do that, no problem. I aim to get back to you within 24 hours or on Monday if you contact me over the weekend.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
