About me
I am a qualified counsellor who truly believes that with the right support, anyone can grow, heal and find a new way forward. Whatever brings you to counselling, I will offer a safe space, kindness and compassion. I don't pretend to have all the answers but I do know the questions to ask to help you explore and understand things better. I will be beside you whilst we figure it out together.
I work with people who feel overwhelmed, stuck, unhappy, anxious or who just have a general sense that things are not quite right. One of the things I am good at doing is helping people to notice the patterns and habits that are shaping their lives, especially those that are harder to spot. Counselling offers the space to slow down and reflect on what's going on under the surface.
I've always been interested in people - their stories, what they carry and the emotions that shape who they are. My curiosity along with my natural instinct to listen deeply is what led me to become a counsellor. I don't come with judgement or assumptions - just a genuine desire to understand you as you are. Above all, my aim is to help you feel more at ease with your emotions so that you can understand them and what they are trying to tell you.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a qualified counsellor having completed a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. I also am certified to deliver counselling online and via the telephone.
I have volunteered as a counsellor for adults and young people (11+). And I have also worked in a support role for young people and their families for 17 years which has involved using a lot of my counselling skills.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
