About me
Many people I work with tell me they hesitate to seek counselling because they feel others have it worse, or that they should just be coping better. People who minimise their needs, or feel emotionally burnt out from always putting others first. On the outside they appear to be managing well, but inside they are worn down by constant self-analysis, self-doubt, or the pressure to be the one to hold it all together.
Is this you?
You are thoughtful, self-aware and considered capable, yet you're quietly exhausted in your own mind. You might be someone who keeps going, holding it together on the outside—even when you’re struggling on the inside. Maybe you downplay your own feelings, compare your pain to others’, or tell yourself, “other people have it worse than me.”
My approach is calm, relational, and down-to-earth. I won’t push or rush you—but I will support you in noticing and understanding your patterns, exploring what has been sitting quietly beneath the surface. I believe once we become aware of those patterns, we stop reacting and start understanding ways to be more at ease with who we are rather than how others would like us to be.
So if you struggle with anxiety or over think all the time, or perhaps you are someone who is always there for everyone else — but rarely there for yourself then we can use our sessions to
-Set boundaries that feel right for you
-Let go of guilt and start honouring your own needs.
-Build self-compassion and confidence
-Take small, manageable steps towards a life that feels more balanced and true to who you are.
What happens in a session?
Sessions are a confidential space for you to talk openly about whatever feels important to you.
I'm not there to pressure you to have it all figured out, we can be logical but emotions are a lot harder to figure out.
Together, we’ll start to make sense of your thoughts and feelings, and explore what’s getting in the way of you living the life you want and challenge ideas, beliefs and patterns that are keeping you stuck.
Get in touch
You don’t have to keep pushing through. You’re allowed to need support too. If you’re curious about counselling, I offer a free 15-minute call—no pressure, just a chance to connect.
You don't need to be in crisis to come to counselling. If something doesn't feel right, that's enough.
Training, qualifications & experience
I specialise in supporting clients who find themselves putting others' needs first at the expense of their own. Together we recognise the patterns behind this, how they developed and the impact they have today. I help clients set healthy boundaries so that they can make different choices that feel more balanced and sustainable.
I am a Person Centred Counsellor, with a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, along side this I have many years of experience working with people from all walks of life and all ages. I have a Masters degree in Psychoanalytic Studies and have attended numerous training courses in theories such as Understanding Autism, amongst others, giving me a varied and integrative approach.
This combination of experience and learning gives us more scope to find out what way works best for you.
It is never too late to start the journey in understanding yourself. I believe regardless of age or situation counselling allows us all to add to our toolbox. And if you are sick and tired of getting the same results all the time even when you feel you are trying your hardest then why not give me a call and let's see what's going on.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
