About me

I provide a warm and comfortable environment within an idyllic and peaceful location. Each client is unique and so their individuality is respected and appreciated within the counselling environment. I tailor my counselling style to the needs of the client, as I believe everyone has the ability to reach their full potential in life. I offer a client-led approach in which I help the client on their own individual journey of self-discovery and reaching goals.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am an integrative counsellor working mainly from a person-centred approach in which the client leads the session. I offer experience working with bereavement and loss, sadness, relationship breakdown or difficulties, self-esteem and confidence issues, as well as working with suicidality and self harm. I offer CBT techniques if necessary to work through issues of general anxiety disorder or depression. I tailor my counselling approach to the needs of the client.  I have had experience working with individuals of all ages (children, young adults, adults), from all walks of life and from all backgrounds. I place emphasis on the benefits of self-care on mental wellbeing. Together, we can work to discover your interests and ways of promoting relaxation and care seamlessly into your daily routine to enhance positivity and increase mental health.

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
