About me
I work within a person centred approach. I can provide a safe and confidential space which will allow you to bring whatever it is that you want to talk about without judgement.
Together we can explore any feelings or difficulties you are experiencing and work towards making sense of these experiences to gain more self understanding and clarity. I will work at your pace to help you discover ways of coping that can help you resolve your difficulties and move towards healing and positive growth.
- Things that may have brought you to counselling could include:
- Feelings of anxiety and stress
- Feeling overwhelmed by life's circumstances
- low mood, depression or a lack of meaning in your life
- loss and grief
- Isolation and loneliness
- Difficulties in relationships
- low self worth, lack of confidence
- A personal crisis
It can take courage to engage in counselling but whatever brings you to therapy, I will treat with sensitivity, understanding, care and support to help you find ways to work through the challenges that you may be facing.
I also use other counselling modalities where these may be helpful to you. These may include: Attachment Theory, Transactional Analysis, CBT, Gestalt, Solution Focused Therapy, Transpersonal and creative techniques.
I work within the British Association for Counsellors and psychotherapy BACP Ethical Framework. I am GDPR and DBS compliant as well as fully insured.
I have over 30 years experience of working in the mental health sector which includes working for the NHS, Voluntary and Social Care sectors. This has given me a wealth of experience in working alongside people managing a variety of mental health issues.
I believe that everyone has the capacity for growth and change and that this starts with the first step.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
