About me

It can be overwhelming to feel “stuck” and suffer emotionally, with a constant cycle of thoughts that can hurt you, leading to feelings of sadness and you feeling lost, alone and preferring to feel differently in your life. As a pluralistic counsellor, I provide a safe therapeutic space, which is client led always working at your pace.

I tailor and individualise my therapeutic approach to ensure your unique life experiences are warmly accepted.

Respect and empathy towards you are firmly embedded in my counselling practice, enabling me to really hear and be present with you and the uniqueness of the experience you bring. I offer to accompany you on a very personal, and often difficult journey, with the knowledge and ability that I can hold a safe space for you to explore your life experiences without the fear of judgement or rejection.

I have availability for face to face sessions at my practices in the following locations:

Liverpool City Centre.

Heswall - Wirral.

Manchester City Centre - Waitlist only currently 20/6/2022

A limited number of online sessions are available.

No matter which  platform you choose for us to meet for your counselling sessions, my commitment is to provide a counselling environment which is solely focused on you and your needs. This is your time to explore what is important to you, what has been troubling you and for you to express how it actually feels to be you in this world with your own life experiences.

If you choose me to be your counsellor, I will be focused solely on you and our therapeutic relationship. I will be ready to hear your feelings, thoughts and experiences that you have chosen to bring along to our sessions, for you to choose a way forward to live the life you truly want.

I understand how daunting it can be to consider counselling. That is why I offer a short no fee telephone check in to answer any questions and for your decide if I am the counsellor for you. That first step to understanding ourselves and deepening our self awareness can be an unsure one. As human beings we can forget about our own needs in this life, especially if we have  put others wants an needs before our own for so long.  This often can feel like we have lost connection with our true self. Having a space which is yours to be fully heard, accepted and without any demands can be incredibly empowering.

I am an open, accepting and friendly guy first and foremost. I am passionate and keenly motivated with regards to my work. In my counselling practice, I am a fully inclusive therapist who is an advocate for championing equality and inclusion for all.

It is important to add that all my qualifications are counselling/psychotherapy related. I am a fully insured therapist who is completely committed to what I do ethically, empathically and professionally. I am registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) and have acquired hundreds of counselling hours experience. I have advanced my core counselling training and qualifications to ensure I am able to offer varied therapeutic  interventions so you receive the optimum experience from therapy.

**Getting started with me as your Counsellor**

Firstly, just drop me a call or an email to arrange an initial no fee short call to answer any of your questions regarding your counselling.

After this if you decide to choose to work with me, we can arrange our first counselling session at a suitable time for us both and at your preferred location.

I will then send over via email confirmation of your first appointment with me, with full details regarding location, parking, public transport links and arrival information.

I will also attach our counselling contract to this email which will provide you with further information of how counselling with me will work. It will outline confidentiality in counselling, how I will store your data, my fees, how to make payment and my cancellation policy. I will ask you to read the counselling contract, complete all client sections and sign electronically and return to me before our first session. If this is not possible then no worries, we can sign a paper copy together at our first session. If you have any questions regarding any of the above then you will of course be invited to discuss this with me.

At your first session we will initially review the counselling contract to ensure all your questions are answered. Then we will begin our therapeutic journey together working with what you feel is important for you to explore with me to support you in making sense of your feelings, emotions and thoughts.

After our first session, if you chose to continue with me as your therapist we will meet at the same time each week or fortnight.

This is your counselling. We will review our sessions regularly. You are free to end your counselling journey whenever it feels right for you.

I very much look forward to hearing from you.

Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
