About me
Hi, my name is Chris, and I'm a Cognitive Analytic Therapist. I work with people who experience:
- Recurring problematic patterns in relationships.
- Difficulties making sense of emotions and frequent changes in mood.
- Long-standing issues relating to difficult past events.
I provide sessions in-person from our clinic room in Crosby, Liverpool, as well as online. Emotional safety is paramount, and it's important that the therapy model, as well as the therapist, feels like a 'good fit' when undertaking a course of therapy. I welcome enquiries and initial contact at no cost and no obligation to help explore issues and goals.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have a background in mental health nursing and have worked in the NHS for over 15 years. I've provided psychotherapy in a number of settings, specialising in the treatment of childhood trauma and abuse, and difficulties often described as complex PTSD and personality disorder.
Though I mostly deliver therapy through the Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) model, I draw on training and experience in other modalities, including Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), DBT for complex PTSD, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT), and Psychodynamic Interpersonal Therapy (PIT).

The Association for Cognitive Analytic Therapy (ACAT) is a registered charity. They welcome members of the public, health professionals, ACAT accredited professionals, and anyone interested in finding out more about CAT. They list CAT practitioners.
