About me
Welcome, I'm Christine, a Qualified Counsellor based in Penrith, East Cumbria.
I believe that each of us has the capacity to find calm, resilience, and peace, no matter how overwhelming life can feel at times.
If you are navigating anxiety and depression, have been through traumatic times, are experiencing stress, or simply feeling stuck, I’m here to support you with compassion, understanding, and without judgment.
I provide a warm, confidential space where we can explore whatever is on your mind, whether it’s challenges you’re facing in the present, past trauma, domestic abuse or feeling lost and confused. While my specialty lies in trauma and abuse recovery, my integrative approach allows me to help with a wide range of issues. Together, we can work toward the clarity and emotional relief you deserve.
In addition, I also offer pre-trial therapy, providing support if you're preparing for legal proceedings.
Finding the right counsellor is an important first step. That’s why I offer a free 20-minute introductory session, so we can get to know each other and see if we’re a good fit before beginning your counselling journey.
Training, qualifications & experience
With years of experience working with individuals affected by domestic abuse, sexual violence, and trauma, I bring a deep understanding of the emotional impact these experiences can have. Before starting my private practice, I worked extensively with domestic abuse services, helping individuals rebuild their lives after experiencing profound harm. I understand just how devastating abuse of any kind can be, and I offer a compassionate space to support your healing.
Many of my clients have faced relationship or childhood abuse, but the skills I’ve honed also apply to other life challenges, such as navigating divorce, managing anxiety and stress, or dealing with work-related issues.
I hold a 101 qualification in Transactional Analysis (TA) and use an integrative approach tailored to your needs, incorporating mindfulness-based interventions when appropriate. My approach is flexible and supportive, ensuring you get the right tools to move forward.
Additionally, I am bilingual in German, offering sessions in both English and German, allowing me to support a wider range of individuals who may find comfort in speaking their native language during therapy.

Further information
I work trauma informed. In sessions we are building a sense of safety, explore the specific symptoms and work on gaining meaning. I will share my knowledge of trauma with you, so you can understand the symptoms of trauma yourself and why your body and mind react the way they do. My clients find this knowledge very useful, as it takes away the stigma of what they are going through. This understanding can form the basis for learning strategies that work for you, so that the symptoms of trauma lessen over time and you can rebuild yourself and your future how you want it to be. This looks different for each individual and we can explore what this means for you.
I offer counselling face-to-face in Penrith and online via telephone or Zoom video call.
