About me

Hi, I’m Chris

Sometimes life can feel like a lot.

You might be feeling anxious, overwhelmed, low or simply not quite yourself. Perhaps something has happened that you’re struggling to process, or maybe you can’t put your finger on exactly what’s wrong — you just know you don’t want to keep feeling this way.

Whatever brings you to counselling, you don’t need to have everything figured out before you begin.

I’m a qualified, person-centred counsellor and winner of the SME Most Compassionate Counsellor – Cardiff 2026 award.

I offer a calm, supportive and confidential space where you can talk openly, without judgement, pressure or expectation. A space where all feelings are welcome and where you can begin to make sense of what you’re experiencing.

How I work
As a person-centred counsellor, I believe that you are the expert in your own life.

My role isn’t to tell you what you should do. Instead, I work alongside you, at your pace, offering warmth, empathy and genuine understanding as we explore whatever feels important to you.

You may be experiencing:

Anxiety, stress or overwhelm
Low self-esteem or confidence
Loss or grief
Relationship or family difficulties
Low mood or depression
Life changes or difficult experiences
A feeling of being stuck, lost or simply “not yourself”
You don't need a label or diagnosis to come to counselling. Sometimes knowing that something doesn't feel right is enough.

Taking the first step
I understand that choosing a counsellor can feel daunting. There are lots of profiles, different approaches and terminology, and it can be difficult to know who will feel right for you.

For me, the relationship between counsellor and client really matters. You need to feel comfortable, safe and able to be yourself.

That's why you're very welcome to contact me before deciding whether you'd like to work together. You can ask questions, tell me a little about what you're looking for, and get a sense of whether I might be the right counsellor for you.

I offer both short and longer-term counselling for adults aged 18+, with regular opportunities for us to review how you feel therapy is progressing.

Professional information
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and have achieved the BACP Certificate of Proficiency. I am fully qualified and insured and undertake regular clinical supervision and continuing professional development.

My experience includes working within charitable organisations and supporting people experiencing anxiety, stress, relationship and family difficulties, low self-esteem, depression and other challenging periods in life.

Ready to take the first step?
Choosing a counsellor can feel like a big decision, so you don't have to commit to counselling straight away.

I offer a free introductory call, giving you the opportunity to tell me a little about what has brought you to counselling, ask any questions you may have and get a sense of whether working together feels right for you.

There's no pressure or expectation to book a session afterwards.

Book your free introductory call today and let's have a conversation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
