About me

Hello, I’m Christopher Anokye, a qualified integrative counsellor dedicated to providing a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental space where you can explore the challenges you are facing.

I understand that life can sometimes feel overwhelming, whether you’re experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, grief, or simply feeling stuck. My aim is to work alongside you to help you better understand your experiences, develop healthier ways of coping, and move towards meaningful and lasting change.

My integrative approach draws on person-centred, psychodynamic, and gestalt allowing me to tailor therapy to your individual needs.

I welcome adults from all backgrounds and strive to build a warm, respectful, and trusting therapeutic relationship where you feel heard, valued, and understood.

Taking the first step towards counselling can feel daunting, but you don’t have to face life’s challenges alone. I look forward to supporting you on your journey.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work in accordance with the BACP Ethical Framework, ensuring that my practice is ethical, professional, and centred on the wellbeing of my clients.

I hold a Master’s degree in Integrative Counselling and a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Psychology. I also completed an Introduction to Counselling course, where I developed a strong foundation in the person-centred approach before progressing into professional counselling training.

As part of my master’s training, I completed 100 hours of supervised clinical placement at Pattigift Therapy, where I provided one-to-one counselling to adult clients experiencing a range of emotional and psychological difficulties. This experience enabled me to develop my clinical skills, work ethically within a professional counselling service, and build strong therapeutic relationships with clients.

My integrative approach draws on person-centred, psychodynamic, Gestalt and gestalt, allowing me to tailor therapy to each client’s individual needs, experiences and goals.

Alongside my counselling experience, I have worked as a Support Worker, supporting individuals living with mental health difficulties, ADHD, autism and severe learning disabilities. This role has strengthened my understanding of the diverse challenges people face and enhanced my ability to provide compassionate, person-centred support while maintaining professional boundaries.

I am passionate about helping people gain a deeper understanding of themselves, overcome emotional difficulties, and move towards lasting growth and positive change. I am committed to ongoing professional development and strive to provide a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment where clients feel heard, understood and empowered throughout their therapeutic journey.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
