About me

Hello my name is Cherrie, I qualified as a therapeutic counsellor in 2017.

I very much enjoy working with children and young people. I am passionate about helping children to see their potential and to overcome the struggles that impact their lives on a daily basis.

Face to face, via the telephone or online sessions are what I am able to offer.

I have a person centered approach to therapy and I aim to provide a safe space for us to build a relationship based on acceptance, trust and no judgement.

Currently, I work for a charity counselling children and young people. I also work with children that are in care that have experienced trauma and abuse.

It is common for me to counsel children and young people who are struggling with low mood, anxiety, low self esteem, who self harm and isolate themselves. Also, children who are finding it hard just to be children and they need someone to talk to about how they are feeling and to get a better understanding of changes they are going through as they grow up.

Further information

As a member I work with the ethical principles outlined in the NCPS guidelines.

I hold the welfare of my clients central to my work and honor the trust they place in me as a professional, and endeavour to carry out my work respectfully and ethically.

I believe that my clients have the right to self-determination and are to be shown dignity and respect for making their own lawful decisions.

I have monthly supervision sessions with a BACP accredited supervisor. Which helps me to provide my clients with a service that is not restricted by my own prejudices and limitations of experience.

I work to be as honest, truthful and accurate as possible. And, will only work when I know that I am safe to do so, taking into consideration my own expertise, training, health and wellbeing, and I will let my clients know if anything changes.
