About me
Why reach out for counselling? Sometimes something comes out of the blue, difficult things from the past begin to surface, or many small things build up and overwhelm us. We feel anxious, low, or angry. Sometimes we simply don’t feel right but we don’t know why. Whatever’s going on for you right now, talking can help. By thinking together about the difficulties you’re experiencing, we can come to a greater understanding of what lies beneath. We can identify default patterns and find empathy and compassion.
Understanding and insight can lead to resilience and the potential for change.
The problems we face are often complex, contradictory and interconnected, so though you may identify with one or more of the issues listed in my profile, often the work can be deeper and more wide ranging. I am also committed to supporting the mental health of performers and creatives, with difficulties both related to those careers and more broadly.
If you would like to see if we can work together, please contact me via email or phone and we can arrange a free 15 minute call to see if I am the right counsellor for you.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a trained psychodynamic counsellor with experience supporting a range of individuals with a range of issues. I’m professionally registered with the BACP and abide by the highest ethical legal and professional frameworks. I work with regular clinical supervision, and am in ongoing therapy myself. I strive to deliver an inclusive, equitable, confidential, and empathic practice.
I work both in private practice and as a staff counsellor in a counselling organisation in North London
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
I work psychodynamically, which means I believe that our current difficulties often have echoes or origins in our earliest experiences. We may not consciously remember them, but these experiences leave imprints and templates which shape how we relate to others and how we cope with difficulties. Sometimes these templates no longer serve us; by noticing and understanding them, we can begin to make adaptations which serve us better. I work with gentleness and curiosity, by your side, and at a pace directed by you. This means that even though difficult emotions may arise in counselling, together we can make sense of them.
