About me

Sometimes, having someone truly listen can make all the difference.

Hello, I’m Charlotte, a qualified counsellor offering warm, compassionate and confidential online counselling.

I hold a Master’s degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy Practice and am an Accredited Member of the BACP. I am also insurance approved by Bupa and Aviva, so eligible clients may be able to access counselling through their health insurance.

A safe space to be yourself

Perhaps you’re feeling anxious, overwhelmed, low or stuck. Maybe life has changed in ways you weren’t expecting, or you’re finding relationships, work or everyday life harder to manage. Sometimes, you may not even be sure what’s wrong — you just know that you don’t feel quite like yourself.

Whatever has brought you here, you don’t have to have all the answers before starting counselling.

My aim is to offer you a calm, welcoming space where you can talk openly, without fear of judgement. You can bring whatever feels important to you, whether that’s something that has happened recently or feelings and experiences you’ve been carrying for a long time.

I believe counselling is a very personal journey, so I’ll work alongside you at a pace that feels comfortable. Rather than telling you what you should do, I’ll listen, support you and help you explore your thoughts and feelings, develop greater self-understanding and consider the changes you may want to make.

Online, accessible and completely focused on you

Online counselling offers the flexibility to access support from a private and comfortable space that works around your life.

And if you’re feeling a little unsure about taking that first step, that’s completely understandable.

I offer a free 10–15 minute telephone consultation, giving you the chance to tell me a little about what’s bringing you to counselling, ask any questions and see how you feel talking with me — with no pressure or obligation to continue.

You don’t need to wait until things feel unbearable before reaching out.  More details can be found on my website - www.charlottedenton.com

Sometimes, the first step is simply having a conversation.

If you feel ready, I’d be very happy to hear from you.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
