About me
Hello and a very warm welcome to my practice. I'm Charlotte and I am a BACP registered psychotherapist practising face to face and remotely in both Clapham, south London and on the Isle of Wight. I work with individuals over the age of 18 and also with couples and partners in all kinds of relationships - romantic and non-romantic.
Are you struggling with the effects of trauma, bereavement, anxiety, depression, unresolved past experiences, relationship difficulties, social anxiety or low self-esteem? You may not even be able to put words to your emotions but are feeling destabilised and overwhelmed by them. If this sounds familiar I can help.
My role is to provide a calm, confidential environment where you will feel heard, understood and supported. Your role is to set the pace and decide what to explore from your past and present and your hopes for the future. You are welcome just as you are with all your lived experiences and entirely without judgement or expectations.
I am warm and approachable and stress the importance of developing a consistent, trusting and authentic relationship with you. Whatever kind of therapy you opt for the most significant element is our connection and your ability to feel you can share safely and comfortably with me.
What I offer
I am an integrative therapist which means I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches and adapt sessions to meet your needs, personality and goals but you are always in control. We work collaboratively to find what’s most helpful and effective for you and you only ever need share what feels safe for you.
Whether you’re looking for short-term support with a specific issue or are seeking longer term therapy I can offer a place where my experience and passion meet your pain and together we can explore new ways for you to cope.
I offer a free 15-20 minute introductory telephone call for us to get to know each other a little before you commit to a session with me. This helps you decide if I feel like a good fit for you and gives you a chance to ask me any questions you have. Email me, call or message me if you would like to set this up and I will get back to you within 24 hours.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have completed a three-year training in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy. I am registered with the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (MBACP) who are the largest UK body for counsellors and psychotherapists and I adhere to their ethics and code of practice. I have also trained in Couples and Relationship Therapy with a CORST accredited course at the Grove Practice.
I have also trained and worked with Cruse Bereavement Care and Shout Crisis Line since 2019 and am committed to regular continuing professional development.
See my website for more details and for regular blog posts and follow the link below to listen to my podcast on a common difficulty that I frequently see in my therapy room.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

How I work
- As an integrative therapist, I bring together a range of approaches to support your wellbeing:
- Psychodynamic therapy - explores how early experiences and relationships may influence patterns of thought, feeling, and behaviour
- Person-centred therapy - places your perspective at the centre of the work, fostering self-understanding through empathy and acceptance
- Solution-focused therapy - helps identify goals and build on existing strengths to create meaningful, achievable change
- Mindfulness techniques - support emotional regulation, present-moment awareness and stress reduction
- Emotional Freedom Therapy (EFT or ‘tapping’) - a gentle, evidence-informed technique that combines cognitive focus with acupressure tapping to reduce distress and promote emotional balance
I work with adults over the age of 18 from all backgrounds, cultures, races, beliefs and sexualities.
My final thought if you are wavering about whether to explore therapy further or wondering whether you are feeling 'bad enough' ... therapy is self-care, self-compassion and an investment in your future and NOT self-indulgence.
“I have been seeing Charlotte for a year to help me process a very traumatic bereavement. She is warm and approachable and I feel I can say all the things to her that I can’t say to anyone else.”
“I had no idea really what to expect from therapy and no confidence that it would help but my anxiety and mood are so much better now. I have insight and coping strategies that I have learned from Charlotte that have completely turned things around for me.”
“Relationships, work, stress, low mood, panic attacks…I’ve brought it all to our sessions and week by week we unpack it together. I highly recommend Charlotte”
