About me
Hello, I'm Charlie. I am a qualified counsellor with an Advanced Diploma in Humanistic Integrative Counselling. I work with adults, both online and in person (East London).
My approach is relational, collaborative, and led by what is important to you. I work with curiosity, honesty and care, and where appropriate, with creativity and moments of humour.
I currently have limited availability on Friday afternoons/early evenings for in-person or online. The location for in-person is close to Shoreditch High Street overground (2 minutes walk) and Liverpool Street station (around 8 minutes walk), with Old Street tube also nearby (around 10-15 minutes walk).
Training, qualifications & experience
You might be thinking about therapy because you would like to feel more connected to who you are, to feel more alive in your life and body, and to look at things that have happened which might feel like or be part of your identity.
I have experience working with people exploring their sense of who they are, of how present in their lives they feel, and their (dis)connection to themselves, others and the world. Within this, my experience includes working with neurodivergence, anxiety, gender, sexuality, family estrangement, traumatic experiences, grief and loneliness.
There are different ways in which we could work together, whether that’s looking at the past, patterns you might see in yourself, or focusing on what is happening for you now.
I’m interested in what it’s like to be you, who you have been, who you are, and who you might want to be. I take the responsibility of exploring this together seriously. I approach it gently, with care, and with a strong ethical focus.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
I offer a 20-minute Zoom intro call (no charge) so that you can get a sense of me and whether we might be a good fit. The times available for this are flexible. We can talk about what you’re looking for and any questions you might have.
If you do decide to work with me, the length of time that we work together for would be your choice, and we can talk it through. We can work together on a short-term basis, perhaps with a fixed number of sessions, or on a more open-ended, longer-term basis.
Sessions are 50 minutes long and typically take place weekly at the same time. A first session would also be 50 minutes. In the first session, we will spend some time talking through the counselling agreement that will frame the work we do together.
