About me

My practice is centred around creating a warm, down-to-earth space where we can establish a trusting relationship and explore the issues that are affecting your daily life. Clients seek counselling for a variety of reasons, but often, it's because they are struggling with emotional turbulence, stress, or confusion that feels overwhelming. Ultimately, by working together, we can help you start feeling better, help you gain a deeper understanding of yourself, and find effective ways to cope with life's difficulties now and in the future.

Most clients I work with seek a space to talk openly, gain insight, and find internal practical ways to cope. I'm here to provide that, empowering clients to acknowledge their own practical coping strategies. I specialise in building long-term resilience in clients via methods that work for them as individuals.

My therapy services are available virtually (via video or telephone) to clients across the UK or face-to-face in a beautiful, discreet rural venue with excellent transport links. This is a calm, comfortable space where you can bring yourself and unpack whatever is going on for you.

I offer a FREE initial 15-minute consultation. This is an excellent time for us to get to know each other, discuss your experience of therapy, and, most importantly, address any fears you may have about the therapy process. I'm here to understand and support you, and together, we can determine if working with me is the right choice for you. You can decide if you want this to be online or via telephone.

Training, qualifications & experience

As a level 7 qualified Person Centred Psychotherapist, I practice in the Humanistic modality. My commitment to continuous learning sets me apart, as I am currently in the final research year of an MSc in Counselling and Psychotherapy, further enhancing my skills and knowledge to bring to my professional practice with clients.

With a rich tapestry of 25 years of experience, I have supported individuals and groups in improving Health and Wellbeing via various sectors, including the NHS, Charitable, Private, and Public. This breadth of experience in building relationships with others allows me to have the ability to relate to clients & some of the issues they may endure.

I have an enhanced DBS disclosure and have full insurance.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
