About me

Do you wonder if things could be different in your life but you don't know how to make changes? You might be feeling that work is all consuming and there is no space for you to find enjoyment. Maybe you feel a persistent low mood or a constant anxious feeling that overshadows everything. Or relationships are troubling, and you are not sure how to improve them. Are you the one everybody relies on in the family, and it is exhausting: nobody realising what you are feeling inside?

As a psychodynamic counsellor, I have experienced the impactful and lasting changes that can emerge from being able to tell your story at your pace, exploring how early relationships and past experiences affect us in the present.

In our sessions, we can slow down the pace. This space allows you to say what is on your mind, and we can be curious about this together. You may be wondering why you are the way you are. Together, through collaboration, we can get to know you better. It is not immediate, but through our work together, new options and possibilities can emerge.

The first time starting counselling often feels daunting, but it can turn into a pivotal part of your week that you value, because you can feel the difference it is making in your life. If you would like to arrange to talk to see if it feels right for us to work together, get in touch by email or call.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

We can explore what lies underneath your behaviours and patterns. All at your pace, with what you bring. We can work long or short term, depending on your needs, reviewing progress regularly.
