About me
It takes courage to take the first step to find a counsellor or therapist who is right for you from a brief profile.
Why me? I have many years experience as a therapist working in the NHS and now in private practice. I enjoy working with people and I offer a warm empathic space where you can explore your feelings and difficulties and be listened to.
I have worked with individuals with depression, relationship difficulties, bereavement, anger, panic attacks, generalized anxiety, low self esteem and fertility issues. You may only want to come for a few sessions or for some longer term work. I also work with students in training. You may feel that you do not have a specific problem but would like to do some personal development work of explore aspects of spirituality that are relevant to you. As a transpersonal therapist I believe that body mind and spirit are all important and affect one another.
I may use a variety of approaches depending on what you bring and what you need. The session belongs to you and you can stay for as few or as many sessions as you need. I may also work with active imagination and dreams if this feels right for you. I also work in health care and have helped people with employment related difficulties. You are welcome to ring me for an initial conversation without any obligation and I offer reduced fees for the first session. I charge £50 per session but will negotiate a reduced fee if this is difficult for you.
I offer evening appointments and live close to the RBH hospital and Reading university and on major bus routes. It is a quiet location and there is ample street parking.
In addition to 5 years training in psychotherapy and counselling, I have also trained in spiritual accompaniment
