Are you struggling with a difficulty in your life and need some help? Would you like to improve your personal and professional relationships? Do you want to talk to someone who will listen without judgement?
Hello. I’m Catherine and I run a private practice in South Bristol, where I offer space to talk - I will listen to your story with kindness and in total confidence. I also offer counselling online throughout the UK and abroad.
I am an experienced person-centred and focusing-oriented counsellor which means that I am specially trained to help my clients listen to themselves at a deep, bodily felt level. I totally believe that if we can tune in together to your inner self, then we can trust that you will know the way forward.
I’m passionate about my work as well as the long term benefits of 'talking therapies' and am committed to making a difference to my clients' lives.
My counselling experience is diverse and includes:-
- Relationship Issues
- Anxiety & Depression
- Panic attacks
- Bereavement Counselling
- Work Stress
- Life transitions
- Low Self-esteem
- Abuse, emotional neglect
- Personal Development
- General Counselling
I'm professionally qualified with an Advanced Diploma in Counselling and am registered with the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP). I am governed by their professional Code of Practice and Ethical Framework. I also have further training in Focusing-Oriented Psychotherapy and coherence therapy. Both these methods involve addressing change in an experiential way, often referred to as 'beyond the talking cure'.
I'm a firm believer in working with the whole 'person' and not the 'label' and this lays the foundation for the way I work. My counselling sessions don't involve you lying on a couch, looking at ink blots or me analysing your childhood! I'm a thoroughly modern practitioner and am dedicated to providing counselling in a straightforward, contemporary and relaxed setting.
If you would like an informal chat then pick up the phone or drop me an email or text and we can talk about how I can help you. I promise you listening ears and total confidentiality!

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
