About me

Hello, I'm Catherine a pluralistic counsellor offering online and face to face counselling in a supportive and empathic environment, where you can explore the challenges you’re facing and how you can influence and change the course of your life.

Are you feeling stressed, depressed, anxious, stuck, struggling with grief or angry and frustrated in any of your relationships? Or maybe you don’t know what’s wrong: you just know you’re unhappy?

Then maybe counselling could help you? In today’s fast-paced world, full of constant pressure and demands, we rarely pause to reflect on our thoughts, feelings and behaviours. Or stop to consider our strengths and what truly matters to us. Having a space to be heard without being judged for who you are or how you feel can be incredibly healing.

How I Work

As a pluralistic counsellor I’m trained in a variety of therapeutic approaches: person-centred, CBT and psychodynamic. Just as you and your story are unique, we’ll have the freedom to use the approach that best suits you.

There are no rules about what you might want to bring to therapy but some of the issues I often support clients with include:

  • Stress
  • Anxiety
  • Depression and suicidal thoughts
  • Relationship issues - whether at work or at home
  • Grief, loss or bereavement
  • Life changes
  • Emotional Abuse
  • Low self-esteem
  • Anger
  • Unresolved childhood issues

Counselling takes commitment and effort but it’s rewards can be life changing.

What I Offer

I offer a free introductory 30-minute online chat. This chat allows us to briefly explore what brings you to therapy and for me to explain how I work as a pluralistic counsellor. Most importantly it allows you to ask any questions you may have before you embark on your counselling journey.

There’s no obligation after that first chat, but hopefully you’ll be encouraged to commit to therapy with me.

I offer 50-minute sessions either face to face or online at a frequency that suits you. Each session is charged at £55 and is payable 24 hours in advance.

If you’ve been searching for a supportive, compassionate and confidential space to explore any of these questions, I’d love to see if we’re the right fit to work together. But most importantly it’s the therapeutic relationship we create that will be central to your therapy journey.

How to Contact Me

You can call, message or email me to set up an initial online chat at a time that works for us both.

Working Hours

I am available for face to face and online sessions at Annan House on Mondays and Tuesdays between the hours of 8am and 8pm  and on Friday evenings from 5pm.

On Wednesdays and Sundays I currently offer only online sessions.

Training, qualifications & experience

As a mother of two young adults, a former lawyer and teacher assistant, I bring a broad range of skills and life experience to my counselling practice. In our sessions I use these skills to create an understanding and confidential space where we can work together to understand your story and challenges. As a result of my personal therapy I retrained as a counsellor and it was the best thing I could have done.

I’m a qualified counsellor with a level 5 Professional Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling Practice. I adhere to the ethical standards of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society, with who I am also an Accredited Registrant.
