About me

I am a HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist, and have worked in mental health services for 20 years, in both primary and secondary care. My NHS work has predominantly been with adults in complex mental health services for anxiety, depression, attachment difficulties and trauma (including childhood abuse, and dissociation).

I offer 1:1 psychological therapy - to work specifically on a problem, and/or to help you better understand your way of thinking, relating and reacting, and to learn strategies.

I'm trained in a range of therapy approaches including CBT, ERP, Attachment-Focused Therapy and EMDR (I don't offer diagnostic assessments).

Arrangements are flexible - no commitment required, and I will try and accommodate shift patterns, family arrangements, and anything else you might have going on!

Sessions are available by video, telephone, or face to face in East Leake (between Nottingham and Loughborough).

There is availability weekdays 9-3, with scope for occasional weekend appointments.

HCPC
Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.

Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.

Further information

What to expect:

I aim to offer a friendly, non-judgemental space, where we can get stuck into understanding how you tick, to work through the problems you bring. You might have a clear idea of what you want, but I otherwise draw on various therapy approaches to personalise strategies so you can do what works for you, to make the changes you need. I work with anxiety disorders (including panic, phobia, stress, OCD), PTSD, depression, and I have a keen interest in ASD.

Getting started:

On a personal note, I'm aware that starting therapy can be daunting, and you might be feeling uncertain.  Whether you would like more information, to ask questions, or would like to trial a session or two, do feel free to get in touch. You can choose telephone/video sessions, or come to my therapy room in East Leake, LE12.
