About me

Hi, I'm Cat,

I understand that sometimes seeking support can feel daunting, but reaching out is a strong and meaningful place to begin. As a qualified person-centred counsellor, I offer a calm, confidential and supportive space for adults to explore whatever they may be going through, at their own pace.

Beginning the search for a therapist can feel like a lot. What matters most is finding someone you feel at ease with, someone you can speak to openly and begin to build a trusting relationship with, as you start to make sense of what’s going on for you. Whether you're navigating anxiety, the impact of past experiences, relationship difficulties or a general sense that something doesn’t feel quite right, you don’t have to face it alone.

I offer face to face therapy in Bromley and online sessions via Zoom.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified Person-Centred therapist which means I work from the understanding that you are the expert in your own life. My role is to walk alongside you with empathy, care and deep respect for your unique story, values and experiences. I will do my best to ensure that you feel truly seen, heard and supported as you explore your life and uncover meaningful ways forward that reflect and empower your strengths and support your capacity for growth and change. You will always be at the heart of the work we do together.

I have experience with working with anxiety, depression, self-esteem and body image, navigating life transitions such as motherhood, menopause, divorce; bereavement, abuse, trauma, and addiction and substance misuse recovery. I also have experience with working with the protective parents of children who have experienced sexual abuse.

I welcome and respect difference and diversity in all its forms. I am committed to creating a non-judgemental, inclusive and affirming environment for everyone, regardless of background, identity or life experience.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
