About me
I'm an experienced integrative counsellor. I have experience of working with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, panic attacks, sadness, PTSD, Self-harm, domestic abuse, addiction, sexual abuse and some chronic medical conditions (non-exhaustive list).
My own personal experience of counselling led me to wanting to help others who may be struggling emotionally e.g. Anxiety or Depression.
Within my private practice or on a walk and talk I offer a confidential and safe space helping the client to identify and explore what's difficult for them right now along with any associated feelings allowing the person to be heard in a empathetic, trusting and non judgemental way. Sessions are either face to face but can also be over video chat or telephone, or outside on a walk and talk. My general approach is relaxed and down to earth.
Additionally I've taught yoga for 24 years and counting, my yoga journey began when I was experiencing panic attacks and anxiety in my early 20's. I found that having a holistic approach to wellness using both regular counselling as well as yoga helped me to gain equilibrium. I teach yoga classes in and around the Truro, Newquay areas, several days a week.
I'm happy to answer any enquiries you may have by telephone, email or Holistic Approach Cornwall social media.

I'm experienced with working with people in a hospital setting within a Rehab therapy team. In this setting I worked with adults who have experienced trauma and usually have other additional chronic health conditions, I left this post in March 2017 after working there for 3 years.
I'm also experienced with face to face work with young people presenting with e.g. anxiety, depression, self-harm, identity/gender, abuse, bullying (non - exhaustive list) I've been working with this age group for the two years and counting whereby I go into schools in and around Cornwall.
My experience also comes from my own life experience , I’m a mother to three children and understand the complexities of juggling work and home life. In my spare time I love listening to music, paddle boarding, Yoga and time with family and friends.
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society
This Not For Profit association of counsellors and psychotherapists aim to support the counselling profession, members and training organisations.
In 2013 the NCS register was accredited by the Professional Standards Authority under the Accredited Voluntary Register Scheme. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
