About me

Sometimes, throughout life, we can experience events that leave a lasting impact on our way of being in the world. Experiences can leave us feeling overwhelmed and unable to move forward. This can be from everyday stresses and anxieties to trauma and losses, we are all finding a way to cope.

Counselling can be helpful during these tough times, helping us to understand the reasons that have led us to how we feel, and finding ways to overcome or manage these experiences.

My aim is to support, listen and be an impartial sounding board. Feeling heard can be powerful and can help you to process issues and allow you to move forward.

I offer a safe space and time to explore and reflect, offering the opportunity to learn more about yourself, what you may want and are looking for in your life.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have worked as a counsellor in a variety of settings and offer you a safe and confidential counselling service.

While my primary counselling qualification is in the Person-Centred approach, through ongoing training I also draw on other counselling models and theories that can help me support you.

I’m able to provide a non-judgemental and supportive environment, that offers my clients the safe space to talk freely to explore themselves and their experiences. I offer my clients empathy, autonomy, authenticity and confidentiality.

I recognise that every person is unique, we will work collaboratively, while supporting you to find the best way forward for you, not imposed by me, but discovered from within yourself.

I am able to work with both long- and short-term counselling, offering counselling sessions throughout the week, remotely via Zoom and telephone. I will be able to offer face 2 face counselling from July 2024, in a comfortable and private garden room.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
