About me

We all experience difficult times in life and can sometimes feel lost, overwhelmed or in a place of unhappiness and distress. It may be that you’re coming to terms with a challenging life experience, navigating a time of change, or generally feeling unsure of the best way forward for you.

Life can be a challenge and it can sometimes help to explore what we’re thinking and feeling with someone outside of our friends and family. I have a warm, supportive approach and with this it can offer some clarity, healing and growth.

I offer a safe, supportive space where you have the freedom to talk about how you’re feeling, I offer the opportunity to learn more about yourself, what you may want and are looking for in your life.

Rather than telling you what to do, I’ll support you in exploring your thoughts and feelings at pace that is led by you. To help you find a way towards greater self-awareness and resilience, and a life that feels more meaningful and fulfilling to you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have worked as a counsellor in a variety of settings and offer you a safe and confidential counselling service.

While my primary counselling qualification is in the Person-Centred approach, through ongoing training I also draw on other counselling models and theories that can help me support you.

I recognise that every person is unique, we will work collaboratively, while supporting you to find the best way forward for you, not imposed by me, but discovered from within yourself.

I am able to work with both long- and short-term counselling, offering counselling sessions throughout the week, remotely via Zoom and telephone. I also offer face 2 face counselling in a comfortable and private garden room.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
