About me

You’re not enjoying life, but you’re not sure why. You keep thinking over and over about the past, or worrying about the future. Sometimes you may fear that you’ll never be happy and content. You get frustrated with yourself for not being able to just get on with life, like other people seem to be able to do. Sometimes you may struggle to simply get through the day.
These are just some of the thoughts and feelings that often prompt people to consider therapy.
You want to be able to let go of the past, enjoy life without constant worry, improve your relationships and cope with the difficult events we often have to face. You want to be able to make the most of the life you have now, rather than simply ‘getting through’.

I will work with you to help develop an understanding of where your difficulties have come from and most importantly; how can we, working closely together, help you recover? Taking the first steps towards therapy can be really scary! That’s normal and to be expected.
My approach is down to earth, compassionate and warm, to support you to share the experiences that have brought you to therapy and to ensure you feel safe and supported in our journey to your recovery.

Training, qualifications & experience

I trained as a clinical psychologist in 2004 and have over 20 years of experience working in mental health settings, including the NHS.

I am trained as a mindfulness teacher and I am an accredited Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR) therapist.

HCPC
Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.

Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
