About me

I am Caroline Lane, founder of Lanes Counselling. My practice offers couples, individual and adolescent support through a team of highly qualified BACP  counsellors, with many years of experience.  Each counsellor has developed their own areas of expertise so, according to your particular needs, we can match you to the counsellor best suited to help you find a way to overcome the issues you’re facing.

We’ve successfully assisted many people in overcoming difficulties such as depression, anger management, relationship and/or family issues, bereavement, addiction, domestic violence, anxiety disorders, adult survivors of sexual abuse and anxiety.

We offer a private and confidential place to discuss your concerns in a supportive, understanding and non-judgemental environment. As we are not personally involved, we can be objective without passing judgement or criticism. Our role is to assist you in gaining insight, awareness and understanding of your difficulties. From this point, we can then look at various coping techniques and discuss what changes you can make to improve your life and sense of well-being.

Our counselling rooms are discreet and provide a calm haven to discuss your concerns.  If you prefer, we also provide online counselling.

Please visit my website at lanescounselling.co.uk for further information. Alternatively, please call me to discuss any queries you may have.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
