About me
I offer outdoor, indoor and online counselling sessions for adults and young people.
Counselling in Nature
I offer Walk and Talk sessions in and around the Tyne Valley - walking through nature can make us feel more relaxed and shift our thinking around aspects of our lives that seem stuck.
I also have access to a private woodland near Hexham, where we can sit and talk, work with nature around us, or go for a gentle wander; being outside and connecting with nature can help to connect us with ourselves and make it easier to talk about difficult feelings.
Indoor & Online Counselling
I have access to private counselling rooms for indoor sessions, or I can meet you online if this is something you prefer. It can be really helpful to access therapy from the safety and comfort of your own home, and research shows that a therapeutic relationship can be just as strong online as it is face-to-face.
Wherever we meet, I offer a confidential and non-judgemental space where you can share your story and where you will be met with warmth and humour. I will be guided by you and by whatever you bring to the session - together we explore your thoughts and feelings, and I will be real and open with you. I trust this process can support you to move forward in your own way towards the life you want.
I am a neuro-affirming therapist and a LGBTQIA+ ally.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a qualified therapist with a postgraduate diploma in person-centred counselling and psychotherapy, and I am trained in contact-orientated therapy in nature settings. I am registered with the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS) and I follow their ethical framework. I am fully insured, including for working outdoors, and DBS-checked. I am also a qualified teacher and trauma-informed Forest School Practitioner with extensive experience of working with young people in alternative provision. I have a special and personal interest in and neuro-affirming understanding of ADHD and autism.
