About me
Carole is a fully qualified and highly experienced British Psychological Society (BPS) Chartered Psychologist and is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Counselling Psychologist. Working in independent practice for over ten years, Carole offers clinics in London, Southampton and Winchester.
With over five years experience in a specialist Adult Mental Health service in the NHS, Carole is well experienced in working with severe and enduring mental health difficulties such as; anxiety, depression, stress, eating disorders, mood disorders, relationship difficulties, bereavement and many more general concerns with life. This affords her a good working knowledge of NHS mental health services should they be required.
Working to the highest standards, Carole offers a confidential service based on well established psychological theory, literature and up to date research evidence. Central to this is a deep respect for client’s individual life experience and the importance of developing a secure and trusting therapeutic relationship. Her philosophy is one that is underpinned by humanistic values, informed by psychoanalytic theory and existential thinking.
Carole has the BPS Qualification in Counselling Psychology and an MSc in Counselling Psychology. She is qualified to apply a range of psychological models including Humanistic, Psychodynamic, Integrative, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and EMDR. She is also able to offer Mindfulness Meditation either as part of therapy (MBSR and MBCT) or on its own.
As a member of both the British Psychological Society (BPS) and the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP), Carole abides by their Code of Ethics. She also has a current CRB enhanced certificate enabling her to work with adults, couples, children and adolescents.
