About me
Hi. My name is Carol.
I am a qualified, experienced UKCP registered Psychotherapist, Counsellor and Supervisor.
I am supportive and compassionate and offer you empathy and understanding. I am respectful and have a non-judgemental approach. Counselling and Psychotherapy can help you come to terms with problems and difficulties you are experiencing in life. This could be due to relationship issues, problems at work, experiences from your past, eg. abuse or trauma, or current health related issues, anxiety, depression, sleeping and eating problems. These are just a few examples of difficulties that people come to counselling for help with.
Psychotherapy and Counselling can help you heal and grow, whilst being supported through talking and sharing your inner most thoughts and feelings. I offer you a quiet comfortable space where we can work together confidentially. l am patient and interested in how your life experiences affect your sense of being in the world. I am creative in my style of work and am very committed to finding the best way of working to meet your individual needs. The quality of the relationship between myself and my client is extremely important and I believe this provides the foundation for your personal growth.
Psychotherapy and Counselling can help you express yourself and make sense of your thoughts, feelings and experiences. This can help you make new life choices for yourself and greatly improve your self-esteem and confidence.
I work from my private practice at home, based in Scarborough. Sessions are one hour long and I am available Tuesday to Friday. I also have some evening appointments available. I offer a long or short term approach.
If you would like to meet me and find out more about what the therapy process involves, I am happy to meet you for an informal initial session. This offers you a chance to talk about what brings you to therapy, ask any questions you may have and to discuss what you would like to gain from the process. You are under no obligation to return after the initial session. If you would like to book an appointment, please email or call me, using the contact details below. (Fees are at the foot of my profile).
Thank you very much for reading my page.

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
