DIP Counselling, MBACP

About me

Thank you for your interest. I am a person-centred counsellor who also works creatively. If you are looking for a counsellor who can offer warmth, empathy and a non-judgemental attitude in a honest, trusting and secure environment then please get in touch.

Anxiety (GAD) is one of the top reason clients seek counselling at the moment, among other struggles like stress, overthinking everything, feeling alone and struggling to understand why? Some are having difficulties in relationships or have become a parent and feel they’ve lost who they are and comparing themselves to all those around them wondering how they seem to have it all together. Some come because they feel sad and empty inside. Surrounded by people who love them yet feel so lonely. Mostly, people seek counselling because they feel stuck, unsatisfied or lost in their lives and crave something new. I have worked with clients through all these struggles and will work with you through yours.

I understand how difficult it is to reach out and seek help, you've taken the first step, now let me help you along your way. The overall aim of our sessions together is to work towards living in a way which is more satisfying for you which offers you a sense of belonging and calm. Finding strategies that work for you.

Never had counselling - Let me explain the process. I offer a 30 minute introductory session. This allows us time to get to know each other and find out if we can work together, because in this case one size does not fit all and you need to feel comfortable to share your feelings.

Sessions last 60 minutes and start off weekly but this can move to fortnightly when you feel ready to do so. I offer open-ended counselling which means you can have as many sessions as you feel you need. You determine the pace of counselling I respect your autonomy to share when you feel ready, but can also offer a block of 6 sessions which are more solution focused.

Please feel free to call, text or email me and we can arrange an initial appointment to talk about how and when we can work together. Counselling sessions are completely confidential, it is important that you feel able to speak freely about your issues.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
