About me
Some people come to counselling because they are struggling with anxiety, self criticism, relationship difficulties, difficult emotions, or a sense of feeling stuck. Others arrive with a feeling that something is not quite right, even if they cannot fully explain what that is.
Often, people have spent years reflecting on their experiences, reading, analysing, and trying to make sense of what they are feeling. Yet despite this insight, they may find themselves returning to the same thoughts, emotions, behaviours, or relationship patterns.
I am Carlotta, a therapeutic counsellor (Level 7) and Doctoral Trainee in Counselling Psychology (DCPsych) in London.
I offer counselling for adults seeking a space to explore their experiences with curiosity, honesty, and depth.
My approach is based on the belief that our thoughts, emotions, behaviours, relationships, and bodily responses all have something to communicate. Rather than focusing solely on reducing symptoms, I am interested in understanding what these experiences may be expressing and how they relate to your life as a whole.
I work in an integrative way, drawing on different therapeutic approaches according to the needs of each person. Because every individual arrives with a unique history, emotional world, and perspective, the work is adapted accordingly.
I see counselling as a collaborative process of exploration. Through questions, reflection, and gentle challenge, we explore experiences, assumptions, and recurring patterns, creating space for new ways of understanding yourself and your situation.
Many people have learned to dismiss, suppress, or move away from difficult emotions. Counselling can offer an opportunity to explore these experiences and the meanings attached to them, rather than simply trying to get rid of them.
Whatever brings you to counselling, we start there.

I don’t offer free introductory sessions, and here’s why: These are usually 15 or 20 minutes long, and in my experience, that’s simply not enough time to explore what’s going on for you or to get a real sense of how I work. The conversation often ends just as it’s starting. Instead, I offer a full session as the starting point. This allows us time to slow down, talk through what’s bringing you to therapy, and begin to get a feel for whether this is the right support for you. It’s a space for you to ask questions and see how it feels, without pressure or obligation to continue.
