About me

Finding the right counsellor can feel like a big step, particularly when you may already be feeling overwhelmed or unsure of where to begin. I offer a warm, welcoming and confidential space where you can be yourself, without judgement or pressure.

I believe counselling works best when you feel comfortable, heard and able to work at your own pace. My approach is collaborative and individual to you; there is no expectation that you have everything worked out before we begin.

Whether you are looking to understand yourself better, make sense of difficult experiences, or feel more able to manage what life is bringing, I will work alongside you to help you explore what feels important and meaningful to you.

I offer in-person sessions in Long Melford and online counselling, with daytime and evening appointments available.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a BA (Hons) in Integrative Counselling and am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

I am also a Domestic Abuse Champion, with experience supporting people affected by domestic abuse. This has developed my understanding of the impact these experiences can have on wellbeing, relationships, confidence and sense of self.

My integrative training enables me to draw on different therapeutic approaches and tailor our work to your individual needs. My relational and client-led approach means we work collaboratively, with you at the centre of the process.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Choosing to start counselling can feel like a big step, so I want the process to feel as comfortable and straightforward as possible. I offer face-to-face counselling from a comfortable, private setting in Long Melford, as well as online sessions across the UK. Daytime and evening appointments are available.

I offer a free 15-minute consultation by telephone or online. This is a relaxed opportunity to share a little about what has brought you to counselling, ask any questions, and get a sense of whether you feel comfortable working with me.
